Gary Wayne Sipes

Gary Wayne Sipes, 75, of Salisbury passed away peacefully on Friday, July 15, 2022 at his home with his wife, Georgeann and his daughter-in-law, Jill by his side.

His funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 23 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel with Speaker Xavier Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. His family will receive friends at Whitley’s Funeral Home from 12:00 to 1:00 PM Saturday.

Gary was born September 29, 1946, in Mooresville NC, the son of the late James Sipes and Ruby Fesperman Maness. In addition to his parents, Gary was also preceded in death by his brothers in law, Richard and Bill McInnis. 

Born and raised in Mooresville, Gary graduated from Troutman High School. He was an active and devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses of Salisbury. Gary’s love of animals led him to rescue many “strays” over the years. He also was an avid cyclist; enjoying his long bike rides.

Gary was very loved by his wife of 27 years, Georgeann McInnis Sipes, his sons Terry Sipes and Chris Yost, his five grandchildren and his six great-grandchildren.

1 Corinthian 13:13… Three things will last forever – faith, hope and love. And the greatest of these is love.
