Gary Lane Long

Gary Lane Long, 75 of Concord went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Atrium Health Northeast Medical Center following a period of declining health.

Gary was born February 18, 1947 in Cabarrus County, NC a son of the late Willie Brandon and Edith Hagler Long. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife Debra Deaton Long on August 25, 2013 and a grandson, Dylan Wayne Livengood on December 30, 2017.

He is survived by two daughters, Tricia A. Dixon of the Enochville Community and Lisa D. Pope of Kannapolis, a brother, Larry Long of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and a sister, Dianne Ayscue and husband Don of Concord. He had four grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Gary was a member of Genesis Baptist Church. He was a 1965 graduate of Winecoff High School. He retired from Carolina Tractor in Charlotte following 31 years of service. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Friday, August 5, 2022 at Genesis Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Gene Edwards. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
