Fred T. Poole, 95, of Kannapolis passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the Tucker Hospice House. He was born March 10, 1925 in Rowan County, a son of the late Elmer Curtis Poole and Bertha Harvell Poole Winters. He was preceded in death by a sister, Estelle Goodson and a brother, Elmer Poole.
Fred was a well known carpenter having owned P&E Builders with Albert Evans. He also worked at Cannon Mills for 20 years and taught carpentry at A.L. Brown for 4 years. Fred was a veteran of the US Army WW II stationed in Hawaii. He was a member of the American Legion. He was an avid bowler. Fred also was an avid antique car owner and liked going to car shows where he won trophies for different categories. He was a member of The Message Community Church. Fred was a generous man who loved to help people. He loved his family.
A private funeral service will be held for Fred. Entombment will be at Carolina Memorial Park.
Fred is survived by his wife of 71 ½ years, Clarice Barnhardt Poole, children, Thomas Poole (Lynn), Cynthia O’Leary, Susan Baker (Norman), grandchildren, Brian Evans (Tina), Jason Evans, Amy Eudy, Kyle Baker (Amanda), Stephen Baker (Danli), 2 great grandchildren, Carly and Connor Baker, 4 step grandchildren, 8 step great grandchildren and 1 step great great grandchild, special sister-in-law Becky Gheen and her daughter Rebekah Draper.
