Frank Lyday Seay

Frank Lyday Seay, 96, passed away on, September 27, 2021 at Atrium Hospital in Concord, NC.

He was born on December 6, 1924 in Gastonia, NC, the son of Robert L. Seay and Roxie Stoddard Seay.

Frank was a 1942 graduate of Thomasboro High School in Charlotte, NC.

Frank was a veteran of WWII, having served in the United States Navy from April 1, 1943 – March 2, 1946.

Frank retired in 1981 after devoting 33 years to the Univac division of Sperry Corporation. In his position as an Electronics Engineer he maintained and repaired computer systems that Univac provided to major airlines and other large corporations.

Frank was a member of Royal Oaks Baptist Church in Kannapolis, NC and had been active with other Baptist churches in the area throughout the years. He is remembered as someone who enjoyed helping others, working on previous Red Cross disaster relief teams, and volunteering with Cabarrus Meals on Wheels.

There will be a private graveside service.

Frank was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-four years, Frances Joann Seay and his oldest son, Frank L. Seay, Jr

Survivors include his son Jeffrey Scott Seay (Joyce) of Huntersville, NC and his daughter Donna Seay Armstrong of Matthews, NC; his wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his sister Connie Seay Starr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Royal Oaks Baptist Church, 904 Texas St., Kannapolis, NC 28083.
