Frances Linker Kanipe

Frances Linker Kanipe was the daughter of the late Aaron A. and Carrie E. Hatley Linker. Frances was born in Mt. Pleasant on August 10, 1941. Frances passed away peacefully on January 8, 2022. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers Kendall and Ray Linker. She is survived by 2 brothers Dennis and Gene both of Mount Pleasant, and 4 sisters, Ruth Barrier (Bill), Linda Kay (Junior) of Mount Pleasant. Polly Teal of Albemarle and Cathy Tucker of China Grove. 

Frances graduated in 1959 from Mt. Pleasant High school. She graduated from Rowan Cabarrus Community College in 2011 with an early childhood education degree. Frances worked at Hope’s Bridal as well as Happy Kingdom Daycare. She was an avid baker for her family and community. Frances was an active member of the Rimer ECA for 6 years. She also loved working at the fair. She was an active member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church as well.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband Ray Hudson in 1961 and Leon Kanipe in 2021. Those left to cherish her memories are her children Debra Campbell (Jeff) of Salisbury, David Kanipe (Lori) of Kannapolis , and Gail Leonard (David) of Rockwell. Frances had 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Frances was a wonderful person and loved by many.

A funeral will be held Thursday January 13, 2022 at 1 pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Concord, NC with visitation prior at the church from 12 to 1 pm.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery after the service.
