Faye (Lipe) Cook

On December 29, 2022, Lois Faye Lipe Cook passed peacefully in the arms of her two grandchildren at her Concord residence.

Born in Concord, North Carolina, August 05 1935 to Ada Overcash Lipe and John Alexander Lipe of Troutman. Faye was the youngest of eleven children, as such she became the matriarch of many Family Trees.

Faye was an amazing woman who had a great zest for life. She was a people person who loved spending time with others and making meaningful connections. Her contagious enthusiasm could light up a room and she was known for her generous spirit, compassionate heart, and fireproof personality.

Faye spent her youth traveling with the love of her life and making friends all over the Southeast. Majority of her days were spent creating a hearth and home while she also served as the trusted treasurer of the Mount Olivet Methodist Church Women's Circle and Secretary for Dr. Floyd, Dr. Rice and Cannon Mills. Alongside her husband, Faye supported Bob's efforts in the Cabarrus County Shrine Club, the Masonic Lodge, Winecoff Lions Club, and Camp Dogwood. She also enjoyed supporting local bake sales and helped coordinate charitable Church bizarres. Faye was also an avid lifelong donor to many charitable organizations aimed to help children. Faye's Mountain home was her favorite treasure, where you could find her on the front porch or shopping in nearby boutiques with friends. Faye's porch was open to all who passed and many of her long afternoons and evenings were spent talking, laughing, and socializing with those who joined her. Faye was an incredibly social person. She loved to dance, talk, and host her closest friends and family. She also had a special connection with animals, and often put their needs first. She was truly a source of light and a presence that will be remembered by all who were lucky enough to know her.

Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cook. She is survived by her son, Steven R. Cook and fiancé Kim Hartsell Pryor of Mooresville NC, Grandson Robert Taylor Cook and wife Lacye Allison Cook, Granddaughter Miranda Cook Zoltanski and husband Mark Derek Zoltanski.  Along with four great-grandchildren, Rylan Cook, Jake Zoltanski, Allison Cook, Elliott Cook and a cherished list of special nieces, nephews and in-laws.

The Family will receive friends Monday, January 2nd at 2:00 PM at Whitley’s Funeral Home followed by a Celebration of Life Service in the chapel at 3:00 PM officiated by Rev. Wes Judy. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Westminster.
