Evelyn (Bradshaw) Abernathy

Evelyn Bradshaw  Abernathy, 94, of Salisbury passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Compass Healthcare of Spencer. She was born December 22, 1926 in Rowan County, a daughter of the late Joe Thatcher Bradshaw and Roxie Ervin Bradshaw.  She was preceded in death by her husband, H.H. Abernathy and a grandson,Todd Abernathy.  She was also preceded by her sisters, Edna Gillians, Frances Co , Gladys Dancy, Letha Clontz and brothers, Carl and Jack Bradshaw.

Evelyn retired from Cannon Mills where she worked in the Wash Cloth department for many years. She loved to crochet and visit with friends. She was a life long member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church in Kannapolis where she was a Sunday School teaches for many years.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am Friday, February 19, 2021 at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove officiated by Pastor David Franks of First Reformed Church

In Landis, NC.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Joe Abernathy (Pat), daughters, Judy Reid (Gary), Wilma Abernathy, Vicky Abernathy, grandchildren, Scott Abernathy, Kim Podwika (Jeff), great grandchildren, Taryn, Taylor, Hayden, Kyle and Christian and a sister, Mildred Caudill (Max).

The family would like to thank the staff at Compass Healthcare for the love and care shown Evelyn especially over this last year.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Reformed Church of Landis, 210 N. Central Ave., Landis, NC 28088.
