Eric Connell Obituary

Eric “Shawn” Connell, 50, of Landis, peacefully passed away Friday afternoon, April 3, 2020, at his home, following a period of declining health.

Shawn was born July 31, 1969, to Roger Dale Connell and the late Patricia Ann “Pat” Greene Connell.  In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elwood and Katherine Sechler, Howard “Hap” and Carrie Greene, and Bob and Dot Connell.

The story of Shawn’s life would be incomplete without including his passion and love for music. A gifted and talented musician, Shawn had played the guitar most of his life.  He had played, along with his father, with the band “Southern Pride” for more than 25 years.  Southern Pride played many, many venues, mostly in the Piedmont area of North Carolina.  Shawn had also written and recorded numerous songs.  He loved all of his family and had a special love for his pit bull “Rambo”. Gone too soon, Shawn will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his father, family members left with many memories include his much loved wife, Trishia Connell; his children, Tony and Savannah; his sister, Kim Corum and her husband, Roger; his brother, Alan Connell; nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Private services to remember and celebrate Shawn’s life will be privately held at a later date.
