Elouise Lumsden, 99, of China Grove, went into her heavenly home on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Best of Care Assisted Living.
She was born on April 14, 1923 in Rowan County to the late Lloyd & Marie Correll Overcash. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Clifford Lumsden; son Dwain Lumsden; two brothers, Harry and Harold Overcash, and two sisters, Phyllis Christy & Patricia Irvin.
Elouise worked as a set wrapper in the Set Department in Cannon Mills for over 40 years. She had a "green thumb" & enjoyed her retirement working with her many flowers. She especially loved spending quality time with her beloved family baking all her favorites for family gatherings.
She had a special relationship with her church family Homestead Baptist and was the oldest member there. She enjoyed going on outings with them as long as possible and they visited with her often.
Those left to cherish her loving memory include a son, Earl Lumsden (Vickii); granddaughters, Nichole “Nikki” Winecoff (Tracy) and Crystal Beck (Tim); grandson, Jeff Lumsden; three great-grandsons, Brayden Winecoff, Mason and Dawson Beck; two great-granddaughters, Courtney and Megan Lumsden, and a sister, Carolyn Stewart (David), a sister-in-law, Connie Lumsden Brown, and several nieces & nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Homestead Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow and begin at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Mitchell Thomas officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Carolina Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Homestead Baptist Church, 105 W 22nd Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
