Doris Eva (McDonald) Aldridge

Doris Eva McDonald Aldridge, 82 years young, went to her heavenly home peacefully December 24th after several years of declining health.  She was born September 27th 1940, to Jack and Mae McDonald in Cabarrus County.  She grew up in Kannapolis and graduated from A.L. Brown High School.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Edward Aldridge.

Those left to cherish her memories are her son Michael (Anne) Aldridge and her daughter Denise Reid. Grandchildren Shane (Melanie) Aldridge, Dustin (Teegan) Aldridge, Joshua Aldridge, Mackenzie Reid and one great grandchild Harper Aldridge and two sisters Helen Thompson and Shirley Stiller.

Doris worked for over 30 years in the computer room at Shoe Show, Inc. before retiring.   She was a lifelong member of Memorial United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school and was active in the United Methodist Women and Nifty over Fifty.  She loved to line dance and attended and taught classes as often as she could.  She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.  She loved traveling and spending time with her family.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Memorial United Methodist Church. A Celebration of Life service will follow and begin at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Tina Thompson officiating.
