Dolly Rumple Obituary

Dolly Mae Hughes Rumple, 87, of Kannapolis, peacefully passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 26, 2022, at her home, following a period of declining health.

Born August 18, 1934, in Prestonburg, KY, Dolly was a daughter of the late William Nicholas and Neva Blair Hughes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Rumple; her son, James Nicholas Rumple, Sr.; 8 brothers and a sister.

On December 24, 1953, Dolly married the love of her life, William Everette Rumple, and soon moved to Kannapolis to raise a family. She enjoyed interior design, sewing and embroidery. Later in life, she enjoyed listening to music and search-a-word puzzles. Dolly will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left with cherished memories are her daughter, Connie Rumple; her grandson, James Nicholas Rumple, Jr.; brother-in-law, Daniel Rumple; and sister-in-law, Johnsie Christy.

The family would like to thank Shirley Tucker for her giving of love, time and unending support, and the ladies of Carolina Caring Hospice House- Amy, Barbara and Derecka, for their compassion, patience and hard work.

Due to Covid concerns within the family, no formal services are planned at this time.
