Debra “Debbie” Ann Sloop Kirby, 65, of Kannapolis, went into her heavenly home on Wednesday, January 6, 2021.
Debbie was born on December 6, 1955 in Cabarrus County to the late Ray Luther Sloop and Genevea Lyles Sloop.
Debbie recently retired as a clerical worker for UPS. She loved to go RV Camping with her husband. She especially enjoyed taking trips to Myrtle Beach. She also enjoyed riding on a motorcycle with her husband and friends. She was a long-time member of both the Kannapolis Moose Lodge and Salisbury Elks Lodge. She dearly loved and adored her family. She also had a special place in her heart for her five-month-old Miniature Schnauzer, Paisley.
Those left to cherish her memory include her beloved husband of 37 years, Fred Kirby; son, Chase (Julianna) Kirby; two grandchildren, Charlotte and Silas Kirby; sister, Bonnie (Barry) Bost; brother, Eddie Sloop; four nieces, one nephew, and five great nieces.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lenny Stallings and Rev. Bobby Dionne officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Whitley’s Funeral Home.
