Claude Timothy Vannoy, I

Claude Timothy “Tim” Vannoy, I, 79, went home to be with his Lord, Tuesday morning, July 14, 2020, from the Tucker Hospice House, following a period of declining health.

Born in Cabarrus County on February 10, 1941, he was a son of Pauline Hendrix Vannoy Ross and the late Claude Junior Vannoy. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Dale Vannoy.

Tim had attended A.L. Brown High and Rowan Tech.  Mr. Vannoy had been an insurance agent before becoming disabled due to ill health. He enjoyed fishing, especially for crappie.  Tim truly loved his family and the time spent with them.  Although the family is glad he is in a much better place today, Mr. Vannoy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Loving family members include his children, Crystal Sharpe and her husband, Brian; Timmy Vannoy and wife, Tonya; and Kimberly Nickelson; his brother, Jerry Lee Vannoy; his grandchildren, Amber and Brandon Sharpe, Jacob and Larry Hagler, Judy Nickelson, and Kaylee and Caleb Vannoy; and 3 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:00 pm Thursday, July 16, 2020, at Whitley’s Funeral Home.  Services to remember and celebrate the life of Mr. Vannoy will begin at 12:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, conducted by Rev. James Pauley.  Burial will be at a later date.
