Clarice Barnhardt Poole, 90, of Kannapolis, went to be with her Lord and savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Atrium Health Cabarrus.
Clarice was born September 10, 1931 in Cabarrus County. She was a cherished daughter of the late Jacob Rufus Barnhardt and Myrtle Mae Keeter Barnhardt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 71 years, Fred T. Poole; sisters, Margaret Rowe and Iris Poteat; and brother, Jake Barnhardt.
Clarice was a long-time member of the Message Community Church where she loved to worship the Lord. She was a lifelong area resident of Kannapolis and spend her career working for Kannapolis City Schools. She worked 25 years until she retired from being a cafeteria cook. Clarice was a world traveler and took many trips abroad. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, bowling, watching old T.V shows and cooking meals for her family. Clarice had a wonderful sense of humor and would make funny poems to include in birthday cards that she would send to her friends and family. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Tommy Poole (Lynn), Cindy O'Leary, Susan Baker (Norman); Grandchildren, Brian Evans (Tina), Jason Evans, Amy Hinson, Kyle Baker (Amanda), Stephen Baker (Danli); 3 great-grandchildren, Carly Baker, Connor Baker and Austin Eudy, 4 step-grandchildren, 8 step great-grandchildren and 1 step great great- grandchild; and sister, Becky Gheen.
All services will be private at this time.
