Chris Lawrence Vanston

Chris Lawrence Vanston, 64 years old, of Kannapolis, previously of Florida, Arkansas and Louisiana, passed away on September 2, 2022.  Chris was born on October 30, 1957 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL to the late Lawrence and Arleene Orebeck Vanston.

Chris was the owner/operator of Vanston Horticulture in Arkansas for 8+ years.  Prior to this, he took over his father’s business, Services Unlimited in Naples, FL for 25+ years. 

Chris was a proud father to his three girls.  He loved history, especially history on war, dated back to the 1500’s.  Besides working in the landscaping business his entire life, Chris was a licensed pilot and loved to fly, his tail number was 2494 Yankee.  Chris loved to fish, hunt and was an avid Dale Earnhardt, Sr. fan.

Chris was predeceased by his parents.  Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Jennifer, Taylor, and Jessica Vanston; his brother, Clint “Chip” Vanston; his eight grandchildren, and his special friend, Elaine Humphrey.  Chris is going to be missed by many.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, September 5, 2022, 5pm at the Second Presbyterian Church, 1578 Dale Earnhardt Blvd. Kannapolis, Rev. Sue Black officiating.
