Charles Wesley Redfern

Charles Wesley Redfern, 60, of Kannapolis, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday January 14, 2021. Born October 26, 1960 in Cabarrus County, he was the son of the Elma Redfern Henderson and the late Alonzo Henderson.

Charles was loved by many. He was recognized for his gait and his laugh. Charles loved repurposing old items, cooking, watching television, demonstrating food at Sam’s Club. Charles certainly had a heart for the Lord.  He was very sociable, loved singing, but his family will forever remember him best for the love he showed them and the times shared.

Aside from his mother, Charles is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn C. Redfern; a step-daughter; Shaquan E. East; four sons, Ervin Charles Glover of Salisbury, Michael Reeves and wife Crystal of Concord, Corey Redfern and wife Jerona of Concord, and Charles William Redfern and wife Melvina of Concord; seventeen grandchildren, Marquetta, Teliea, Jakiyah, Jermaine Jr., Shadaesya, Xavier, Reyonna, Devynn, Corey, Marcel, Carmen, Jaylen, Mariah, Serenity, Cash, Jasmine, and Justice; three great grandchildren, Jersey, Avah, Azaiah; two brothers, Donald Ray Redfern and wife Margaret and Douglas Redfern and wife Rosie; and two sisters, Joyce Ann Redfern and husband Martin and Angela Flowe and husband Avery.

Aside from his father he was preceded in death by his son, Jermaine Bell.

A celebration of life service, open to all, will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Living Grace Church, 517 Pleasant Avenue, Kannapolis.
