Charles Jeffery Clowney Sr., 54, of Kannapolis, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 15, 2021.
Charles was born on April 21, 1967 in Cabarrus County to the late Marion Clowney and Mattie Owens Clowney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Charles previously worked for Lane Construction and currently worked for Blythe Construction for the past four years. He loved taking trips to the beach and going fishing. He also enjoyed cooking for others and especially grilling. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 32 years, Vivian Starnes Clowney; daughter, Christina Clowney; son, Charles Jeffery Clowney Jr., three grandchildren, Kamryn Mason, Amaris Mason, Ryleigh Pacini; brother, Rev. Tyrone (Tonda) Clowney; sisters, Gloria Clowney Brown, Mattie Clowney, and Terry (Donald) McConneaughey; sister-in-law, Debbie Smith; brother-in-laws, Donald Starnes and Jeffrey Starnes.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Whitley’s Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow and begin at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Whitley’s Funeral Home with Rev. Tyrone Clowney officiating.
