Cadence Marie Whitten

Cadence Marie Whitten, 14, of Rockwell, entered into eternal rest November 16, 2022. Born December 5, 2007 in Mecklenburg County, she was the daughter of Cyndi Whitten and Chris Austin.

Cadence attended East Rowan High School. She was very talented in all of the endeavors she undertook. She had a great love of art and music. Cadence loved her family and friends. She will forever be remembered for her infectious, beautiful smile and big heart. Her favorite color was lavender.

Cadence time on this planet was far too short, but her impact will be everlasting on those who are left to cherish her memory, including her parents, Cyndi Whitten and Chris Austin; her siblings, Holden, Brayden, Silas, Jayven, Ian and Macie; her grandparents, Carol and Jim Knickerbocker, Donnie Whitten, and Kelly Austin; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Cadence was preceded in death by her grandmother Anna Whitten; great grandparents, Silas and Mildred Jolly and Carol Turley; and her aunt, Amy Therrell.

Funeral services to honor Cadence's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday November 22, 2022 at Whitley's Funeral Home, Kannapolis. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. Pastor Eddie Willis will officiate. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service Tuesday at Whitley's. As a show of support for all of those affected by Cadence's passing, those attending the services are requested to wear the color lavender if possible.
