Bobby Jack Cain Sr.

Bobby Jack Cain Sr., 78, of Kannapolis, North Carolina, passed away peacefully in the company of his son, Bobby Jack Cain Jr and his granddaughter, Alison Elizabeth Cain at approximately 5:00PM on Monday, February 13th, 2023 at North East Medical Center in Concord, North Carolina.

Bobby Sr. was born March 2, 1944 and was the son of late James Lester Cain and Dorris Vick Cain. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Jimmy and Gerald Cain and also his daughters Tammy Cain and Mary Cain.

Bobby lived an adventurous life, leading him into several different careers in his lifetime. He worked as a ticket agent (at Greyhound Transportation), an auto mechanic, a carpenter ,a landlord, and a real estate investor.

After retiring, Bobby Sr. took up a myriad of hobbies. He loved restoring old, classic cars and trucks, he enjoyed playing bluegrass music, and he loved to hangout out in his workshop with friends and family. Bobby Sr, will be remembered for always being the life of the party. It filled his heart with joy to spend time with his grandchildren, where he would talk about old fights, play/sing music, and share his exciting adventures.

Those left to cherish his memories are his younger brother Jerry Cain of Carrollton, Georgia, his wife, Faye Cain, his son, Bobby Cain Jr and wife Penni, both of Kannapolis, Edward Troglin and wife Pamela of Mooresville, daughters, Betty Brown and husband Larry of Sherrills Ford, and Kathy Turner of Cornelius.

The family will receive guests from 10AM -11AM Saturday, February 18 at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis for the viewing of Bobby Cain Sr. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM in Whitley’s Chapel with Rev. Anthony Cain officiating.
