Bobbie Evelyn Hammett

Bobbie Evelyn Graham Hammett, 78, of Kannapolis, passed away Thursday September 9, 2021 after a period of declining health. Born August 15, 1943 in Ashe County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Trevia Sullivan Graham.

During her working years, Bobbie worked as a medical secretary and later in the registration department at the CMC Northeast Hospital. She loved the beach and spending time with her family. She enjoyed spending time with the Carolina Girls, her group of high school friends. Bobbie was a loyal member of Shady Brook Baptist Church for sixty years. 

Bobbie is survived by her husband of sixty years, Thomas Hammett, whom she married on September 10, 1961; two daughters, Kelly Ijames and husband Dale of Landis and Julie Hollar and husband Tommy of China Grove; four grandchildren, Ben Ijames and wife Jessica, Katelyn Daniels, Bailey Moon and husband Cody, and Seth Hollar; and seven great grandchildren.

A funeral service to honor Bobbie’s life will be held at 1:00pm Monday, September 13, 2021 at Whitley’s Funeral Home, Kannapolis. Pastor Charlie Littlejohn will officiate. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove. The family will receive friends from noon until 1:00pm prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
