Dr. Betty Frances McDaniel Middleton, of Concord, NC went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 16, 2022, at Morningside of Concord. Betty was born in Landis, NC, August 24,1938 to the late Elmer Douglas and Lucille Whitaker McDaniel.
Betty retired as a librarian with Rowan County Public Library, Salisbury, NC and Beaufort County School District, Hilton Head, SC. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Church of Christ in China Grove and was involved in many community organizations throughout China Grove and Salisbury.
Betty leaves behind to treasure her memory, four children: Tami Page (Rickey) of Salisbury, Billy Middleton (Francine) of Granite Quarry, Traci Middleton-Dabbs (Gray) of China Grove, Terie Schunck (Scott) of Saline, MI. Eleven grandchildren: Mandi Ross, Richard Donaldson (Melody Hudson), Lauren Freeman (Brandon), Daniel Donaldson (Savannah), Niki Jones (Jimmy), Rene Meadows (Rob), Seairra Middleton, Jordon "Ben" Coleman, Trevor Schunck (Danielle), Alissa McCaslin (Brad), Evan Schunck, and fifteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her sister Judy Ellen McDaniel.
The family would like to thank Morningside of Concord for assisting in the care of Betty for the past six years. She created many cherished friendships while living there.
A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Alzheimer's Association ALZ.org, Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County.
