Bengta Marie (Stockmar) Clark

Bengta Marie Stockmar Clark, 92, of Concord, NC passed away peacefully on June 6th, 2022.
 

Bengta was born in New York City, New York on May 9th, 1930 to loving parents Severin
and Bengta Stockmar of Scandinavian descent.
 

Her memory will live on through her family; her brother Eric Stockmar; her children, Jennifer
Clark, Nancy (Clement) Ramdin, and Robert (Crystal) Clark; her grandchildren, Alexandra
(Patrick), Sonnet, Jacquelyn, Alexis (Ben), and Whitney; and her great-granddaughter,
Emma. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Deryck Gude Clark, and 3
siblings; John Stockmar, Barbara Tribolet, and Jessica Timmins.
 

Bengta was married to her high school sweetheart, Deryck, for 67 years until his passing in
2021. She graduated from New Canaan High School where she was head cheerleader.
Bengta worked as a manager of retail stores including several women's clothing boutiques
and Hallmark stores in both Charlotte and Florida. Some proud moments included being
asked to model by Charlton Heston and being spotted by Cecil B DeMille during the filming
of The Greatest Show on Earth and asked to do a screen test.
 

Her family was the light of her life and she loved spending her time supporting her children
and grandchildren in their various endeavors. Bengta also enjoyed music and singing,
puzzles, playing cards, bird watching (especially blue birds), collecting blue and white china,
cooking, and being the ultimate hostess and homemaker. Her honey-blonde hair, blue eyes,
warm smile, and innate sense of style made her a natural beauty and she brought grace,
charisma, and a sense of humor to everything she did.
