Barbara Jean (Edwards) Morgan

Barbara Jean Edwards Morgan, 86, of China Grove, went into her heavenly home on Monday, June 27, 2022.

Barbara was born on October 6, 1935 in Rowan County to the late James Robert Edwards and Minnie Ruth Vanderburg Edwards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Lee Morgan; brother, James Edwards, and a sister, Margarete Edwards.

Barbara loved to spend time outside gardening flowers. She also enjoyed going down to the river to feed the ducks. She was a faithful member of Fellowship 517 Church. She was truly the Rock of the family and dearly loved her children and family.

Those left to cherish her memory include six children, Dennis (Louise) Morgan, Larry (Pam) Morgan, Darlene Morgan, Robin (Janet) Morgan, Jimmy Morgan, and Jamie (Kathy) Morgan; 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Howard Edwards.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2022 at Whitley’s Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow and begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Whitley’s Funeral Home. Burial will immediately follow the service at Kannapolis City Cemetery.
