Barbara (Singletary) Baughman

Barbara Ann Singletary Baughman, 79 years old, born March 28th 1943 died June 16th 2022. After beating pancreatic cancer in 2019 she has battled numerous strokes. The last one, a few days ago. God decided it was time to call her home.
 
She is predeceased by her parents, Ray and Melba Singletary, her brother, Donald Singletary, and her son-in-law,Randy Holder.
 
Survived by her husband of 52 years, Michael, daughters Cheryl (David) Wright, Mishel Baughman,& Jennifer Holder. Brothers Roy (Sandi) Singletary, Larry (Linda) Singletary, Sister-in-law Janice Singletary. Grandchildren Jacob, Zachary, Nicholas, David, Jes-Sea, favorite Granddaughter Casey and the happiest, sweetest baby in the world, her Great-Grandchild Zeke.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her aunt Irene.

She was a vivacious, fiery redhead who for many years worked as a Fashion Eyewear Consultant promoting her skills on TV and in stores throughout Eastern Canada and the southern United States.

Barbara, AKA "Granny Red", was an expert country cook. She loved to entertain her friends and family whether it be 4 or 40. She especially enjoyed her infamous Super Bowl parties. She was an advocate for her three children and her grandchildren's biggest cheerleader. Granny Red was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and an energetic worker with the Ladies Guild. She had a passion for caring for the sick and elderly and was just fun to be with.
 
A funeral mass will take place at 1:00 PM Monday, June 20, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kannapolis. Her family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday evening, June 19, 2022 at Whitley’s Funeral Home.
