Archie Edward Fisher

Mr. Archie Edward Fisher, Jr, 91, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at Atrium Health Northeast Medical Center in  Concord following a  short period of declining health.

Archie was born June 2, 1931 in Cabarrus County, N.C. a son of the late Archie Edwaard Fisher, Sr. and Daisy Tarlton Fisher.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Gail Fisher Love, and two brothers; Les Fisher and Steve Fisher.

Archie was a 1951 graduate of Winecoff High School and was a veteran serving with the US Air Force. He was a member of Point of Grace Lutheran Church, Huntersville, N.C.

Archie was employed by Aker’s Motor Lines as a truck driver and later as a driver for Food Lion.

He enjoyed volunteering at the N.C. Transportation Museum in Spencer where he held an engineer’s card. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.

He enjoyed spending time with his family including his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services to Celebrate His Life will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Pastor Quentin Poulson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. Thursday prior to the service. Interment will follow at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Concord with military graveside rites.

Family members left to cherish his memory include his wife of 70 years Nancy Ingram Fisher, three daughters; Karen Fisher Christy of Kannapolis, Connie Fisher Rummel (Hank) of Kannapolis and Deana Fisher Smith of Cleveland. He is also survived by a brother, Phil  Fisher (Judy) of Concord, five grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

The family request that memorials in his name be sent to the N.C. Transportation Museum,  411 S. Salisbury Ave, Spencer, NC 28159.
