Alson Edmon Fortson

Alson Edmon (Eddie) Fortson, 75, passed away peacefully in his sleep June 9th. He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years Geraldine Heath Fortson. He was the son of the late Alson Edmon Fortson and Hester Bruce Fortson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by Sister Jeanette Torrence and Brother Bruce Fortson. Eddie is survived by Daughter, Darlene Barnwell and special friend Albert of Asheville, NC. Son, Ed Fortson and wife Angie of Kannapolis, and daughter Mary Beth Fortson of Rockwell, NC. Sisters: Bertie Upright, Merle Upright, Donnie Smith, Brenda Brewer, and Cindy Riley. Brothers: Henry Fortson and Kenneth Fortson. Grandkids: Chad Barnwell, Jessi Froemming, Travis Fortson, Ashley Beam, Dylan Fortson, Corey Fortson, Landen Fortson. Lori and Katie Durham. Great-Grandkids: Jordan, Addison, and Averly Froemming, Lacey Fortson, and Emilee Barnwell. Life Long Best Friend Ronnie Chandler.

The family will have a private service for immediate family only. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled later this year. His favorite place was fishing at the Outer Banks, in lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice to help restore and preserve the Outer Banks.
