Zachary Leigh Yager

Concord, NC – Zachary Leigh Yager, 34, of Concord, passed away unexpectedly on August 23, 2025. Zach was born on August 25, 1990, in Rochester, NY, to Philip and Lisa Yager.

Zach grew up in upstate New York and developed a deep passion for NASCAR racing from a young age. This love for the sport led him to North Carolina, where he made a lasting impact on the NASCAR community. Since 2014, Zach worked as a valued crewman with multiple teams, including Team Penske, Richard Childress Racing (RCR), RFK Racing, and most recently, the No. 39 Xfinity Series team with Ryan Sieg and RSS Racing. He was also a member of the No. 88 Truck Series team of Matt Crafton. Zach's dedication to the sport and his colleagues in the racing world was evident in his work, where he was known for his commitment, skill, and passion.

Outside of the track, Zach enjoyed many hobbies, including playing guitar, golfing, and shooting — particularly skeet shooting. He was a fun-loving and generous soul who cherished spending time with his family and friends. His presence was always a source of joy, and his love for life was contagious to those around him.

Zach was deeply loved and is survived by his parents, Philip and Lisa Yager; his sister, Kaleigh Yager Walker (Dylan) of Kannapolis, NC; his nephew, Corban Walker; and his grandparents. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Zachary's life will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Irish Creek Golf Club in Kannapolis, NC. All are invited to join in remembering and honoring his life.
