Zachary David Leontovich, 34, of Concord, passed away suddenly on Monday, April 29, 2024.

Zach was born on December 1, 1989 in New York. He was a cherished son of the late Donna Farrar Sparks and David Leontovich. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, William Farrar and Marie Farrar; and his many beloved pets.

Zach found joy in cheering for the West Virginia Mountaineers and rallying behind the Rangers hockey team. But his love for sports didn't end in the stands; he was an active player in his youth, playing a variety of many different sports.

For over a decade, Zach served as a dedicated prison guard for Cabarrus County, embodying integrity and compassion in every step. Beyond the confines of work, his heart belonged to his family. He cherished every moment spent on family trips, creating cherished memories that would last a lifetime.

Known for his infectious laughter and quick wit, Zach had a personality that lit up any room. His knack for cracking jokes brought joy to those around him.

In his downtime, you could find Zach engaging in friendly battles on Xbox with his closest friends or enjoying quality time with his children, whether it was bonding over TV shows or practicing the art of jujitsu with his son.

Zach was a true sports enthusiast and family man with a heart of gold, he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving companion, Kimberly Griffiths; children, Hayden and Grayson; sister, Stephanie Hill (Jeremy); nephews, Nicholas Leontovich and Charles Hill; father, David Leontovich (Colleen); grandparents, Allen and Jan Leontovich; and his faithful dogs, Gracie and Snickers.

The family will receive friends from 6-7:00pm on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Westford Methodist Church in Concord. Followed by a memorial service with Burton Robinson officiating. Please feel free to attend in comfortable and casual attire. the family kindly requests Memorials to be made to either the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office K9 Unit- Please make all checks out to: Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office and in the memo line add K9 Training and Equipment.
