Wilmar "John" Pendleton Jr.

Wilmar “John” Pendleton Jr., 79, of Concord, passed away peacefully on December 2, 2024.

John was born on April 4, 1945, in Cabarrus County. He was a cherished son of the late Wilmar John Pendleton Sr. and Martha Auten Pendleton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Church Pendleton, and son, John John Pendleton.

John was proud to have served in the Army and was stationed in Korea. He was a lifelong mechanic and was known for his unwavering dedication to others and his unmatched skill in fixing anything that was broken. John would offer his help without hesitation, and never once expected anything in return. He was truly the embodiment of “Mr. Fix-It.”

Following his service in the army, John built a career as an air compressor mechanic, traveling across the South Eastern U.S.

John had a deep passion for classic cars, owning and maintaining his treasured 1941 teal Chevrolet. He was also a true connoisseur of cigars and could often be found with his favorite cigar. John also had a deep love for history, particularly the Second World War.

In addition to his hobbies, he was a long-time member of Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church. A devoted family man, John was a constant, loving caregiver to his son, always putting others first with compassion. He adored his grand-dog Simon, who became his buddy and companion, bringing him joy and comfort. Though John was a man of few words, he was known for his sincerity, honesty, and integrity. He meant what he said and said what he meant. He loved his family dearly and will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Jodie Hott (Jon Todd); granddaughters, Bryana McDonald (Garrett) and Savannah Hott (Mary Mason); great- grandson, Levi and girlfriend, Carolyn Bost Michael.

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm -2:30pm on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church in Kannapolis. Funeral service will begin after the visitation at 2:30pm. Interment will be private.
