William “Scott” Kerr Sr., 60, of Rockwell, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 25, 2025.
Scott was born on May 20, 1965, in Cabarrus County. He was a cherished son of the late Thomas “Tom” Kerr and Marie Birmingham Dellinger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Derek and Alex Kerr; and his brother, Sammy Kerr; and grandparents, Sam Kerr and Roxie Mae Kerr and Will and Edith Birmingham.
Scott spent his career doing what he did best — working with his hands and putting his heart into everything he touched. Over the years, he worked at Cannon Mills (Plant 4 and Plant 6), Duke Power Plant, East Coast Tire, and Mobil Tires. No matter where he was, people knew they could count on him. He was a true mechanic at heart, if it had wheels or an engine, he loved to work on it.
When he wasn’t turning wrenches, you could find Scott outdoors. He loved the beach, deep sea fishing, camping, and tending to his vegetable garden. His yard was his pride and joy, and he made sure his lines were always perfect. He was also an excellent cook who loved sharing a meal with his family.
Scott had a gift for making people feel welcome. He never met a stranger, always willing to lend a hand to anyone he ran into. He believed in helping others, and he lived that belief every day. His family was the center of his world, and he worked hard to make sure they were cared for and surrounded by love. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Angie Kerr; daughter, Brandy Pawluk (Brian); sons, Scottie Kerr and Wesley Kerr; grandchildren, Bryson Nichols, Sawyer Kerr, Oliva Pawluk, and Brody Pawluk; sister, Lisa Fink (Gary); brothers, Micheal Kerr and Benny Kerr (Marsha); six nieces and four nephews; and his loving dogs, Maddie and Willow.
The family will receive friends from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Gods Church of Faith in Kannapolis. The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 6:00pm with Rev. Jeff Upright officiating. Burial will be at 1:00pm the following day, October 31, 2025, at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
