William Robert Biggs

William Robert Biggs, 70, of Kannapolis, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 25, 2025.

William was born on March 12, 1955 in Paterson, New Jersey. He was a cherished son of the late Ernest Biggs and Mary Ristan Biggs.

A lifelong foodie, William loved exploring new cuisines, always ordering appetizers just to try a little bit of everything. He enjoyed cooking just as much as eating, often bringing people together with his meals. Weekend trips to Savannah, GA, or Beaufort, NC were his favorite escapes—good food and coastal charm. William also enjoyed watching the Yankees and Beatles tribute bands.

For over 30 years, he coached youth baseball and softball, positively impacting countless young lives. His greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren, who he loved to spoil.

William was a funny, and kind person who will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Brian Biggs (Jill) and Hannah Powers (Zach); grandchildren, Kaite Biggs and Emmy Biggs; sister, Janice DeVosa (Steve); brother, Ernie Biggs (Diane); his former wife, Donna, who remained a close companion. They shared many years of friendship, holidays, birthdays, and family get-togethers after their marriage; grand-pets, Reese, Phil, Nelson, and Sage; William was also blessed with numerous loving nieces and nephews and countless friends.

A Celebration of life will be held from 2:00pm – 4:00pm on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis.
