Wanda Allman Howard, 89, of Concord, North Carolina went to her heavenly home on Monday, March 30, 2026, after a brief period of declining health.

Wanda was born October 20, 1936, in Union County, North Carolina to the late Lonnie W. Baucom and the late Sarah Lena Edwards Baucom.

She was preceded in death by her first husband of 57 years and the love of her life, Joe Banks Allman, and her siblings, Heath Baucom, Flave Baucom, Lee Baucom, Christine Baucom Littleton, and Guy Baucom.

Left to cherish all the wonderful memories of Wanda are her second husband of 12 years; Jim D. Howard of Concord; her children, Angela C. Allman (David) of Gold Hill and Alan C. Allman (Dawn) of South Carolina; grandchildren, Shea N. Walker (Eric) of Georgia, Tyler Walker (Katherine) of China Grove, Zachary B. Allman (Allie) of China Grove, and Zari A. Fucci (Anthony) of Mooresville; stepchildren, Jim C. Howard (Krista) of Concord, Leslie H. Mckemie (Quientin) of Richfield, and Robin H. Sipe; 8 step grandchildren and 22 step great-grandchildren.

Wanda was a member of First Reformed Church in Landis and was part of the choir for many years until her health prevented her from doing so. She served on several church committees, taught Bible school, served on a cooking team for numerous years, and became everyone’s “Nana” to many of her church family. She had a huge love for all people but an extremely soft heart for children.

Known for her contagious laugh, sparkly blue eyes, and sweet smile - Wanda truly loved everyone. A talented piano player, over the years she taught piano, played and sang in community chorus events, and performed with her first husband and neighbors in local churches and area events. She was an avid gardener and loved planting and caring for her yard and garden, as well as her indoor plants, and had the green thumb that her mother passed down to her.

A Celebration of Life for our wonderful Nana, Wandie, Wanda will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2026. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 11:45 AM at First Reformed Church in Landis, North Carolina. The service will follow on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 12:00 PM at First Reformed Church of Landis officiated by Rev. David Franks. Burial will immediately follow at Carolina Memorial Park, 601 Mt. Olivet Road, Kannapolis.
