Vera Ruth Parker

Vera Ruth Beach Parker, 82, of Concord, passed away September 21, 2025, at S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville. She was born December 24, 1942, to the late Glen and Inez Kluttz Beach.

Vera was married to Ernest E. Parker for over 64 years. Vera retired from Cannon Mills over 20 years ago. After retirement, Vera and Ernest loved traveling with the Christian senior group to various places. Vera loved fishing and camping. The family would go camping at their family property along the Rocky River in Norwood, NC. Vera and Ernest loved being outdoors. She enjoyed being in the garden talking to the birds and bees and also to the plants. She enjoyed canning all the vegetables from their hard work from the garden. She also loved her trips to the beach to see long time friends where she enjoyed walking on the beach or just sitting around and playing cards with all her friends and family. If music was playing she would love to get up and dance. She always would put a smile on your face and tears in your eyes from laughing so hard. Vera loved spending time with her family especially on Sunday for dinner. She was especially proud and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren which called her Granny. Vera was known as MaVer; she was the neighborhood mom while the kids were still at home.

Vera was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 64 years, two sons, Ernest Eugene Parker Jr. and Darrell Wayne Parker; two sisters, Shirley and Joyce and one brother, Norman.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two daughters, Dianne Rice (Daniel) and Janet Hailey (Harold); her grandchildren, Jessica Rice, Chris Parker, Jamie Nunn, Edward Hailey (Sarah) and Julie Neitzel (Madison) Ashley Parker, Elizabeth Parker; her great grandchildren, Paytene Rice, Charlie Simpson, Henry Hailey, Wyatt Hailey, Hudson Neitzel, Hayes Neitzel and Gabrielle Hastings; other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Vera will be Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Whitley’s Funeral Home from 12:00 PM noon until the time of service. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Steve Kramm officiating. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County or Shriner’s Hospital.
