Tony Eugene Byrum, 78, passed away peacefully on August 23rd, 2026. He was born on January 27, 1948 to the late John Byrum, Jr. and Evelyn Byrum.

He graduated from T.L. Hanna High School and earned a degree in Business Administration from Forrest College. He worked at the Singer Company in accounting and plastics.

In 1988, the family moved to Concord, NC where Tony worked in customer service, and metals and plastics sales at Plastics Manufacturing Inc. until he retired.

Tony met the love of his life, Nancy, in 1975 on a blind date in Anderson when she came down from New Jersey to visit a friend. For Nancy, it was love at first sight; Tony took just a little longer to catch up. Their partnership became the foundation of a joyful, devoted life together.

Tony loved life. He loved to travel with Nancy, have coffee with his OGM buddies, sports, Clemson football, but especially loved his family. Tony was an outgoing person who never met a stranger. He had a positive attitude about everything. He will be deeply missed.

Tony was preceded in death by his father John Byrum, Jr, brother Danny, and sister Beth Hughes.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy, of 50 years; daughter Jennifer Warren (Nicole), Ellis and Avery; son Matthew (Kristi), Owen and Everett; mother Evelyn Byrum; sister Susan Holley; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Ascension Lutheran Church, Charlotte, NC on Friday August 28th, at 1:00 pm with service following at 2:00 pm. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC.
