Thomas “Tommy” Derek Irvin

Thomas “Tommy” Derek Irvin, 72, of Concord, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.

Tommy was born on June 2, 1952 in Cabarrus County. He was a cherished son of the late Donald Dale Irvin Sr. and Olga “Toots” Alyene Reynolds Irvin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Dale Irvin Jr. and his nephew, Darren Irvin.

Tommy was a dedicated family man and a highly respected tradesman within the community. As the proud owner of Tommy Irvin Plumbing, he built a reputation for his strong work ethic, integrity, and attention to detail.

Tommy also had a profound love for the outdoors. Whether he was riding motorcycles alongside his beloved wife, Lou Ann, or enjoying the quiet of the woods while hunting, nature was his place of peace and happiness. More than anything, Tommy treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren, who were a constant source of pride and joy in his life.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Lou Ann Poplin Irvin; son, Derek Irvin (Sara); sister, Lisa Hendley (Ben); niece, Dana Hefner (Jason); nephew, Drew Hendley (Mary); and grandchildren, Greyson and Noah.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 pm on June 4th at Gilwood Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, located at 2993 Odell School Rd Concord, NC with Pastor Katie Sloan officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Care A Lot Adult Daycare, located at 1753 Old Earnhardt Rd Kannapolis, NC 28083.
