Terry Robert Christy, 62, of China Grove, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at Atrium Cabarrus Hospital in Concord.

Terry was born February 1, 1964, in Cabarrus County, North Carolina to the late Bobby Lee Christy and the late Ivanell Billings

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM – 2:45 PM on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Whitley's Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow on Monday, June 15, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home in Kannapolis.

Survivors include children, Amy Christy (Perry Minton) of Salisbury, NC and Terri Christy of China Grove, NC; grandchildren, Gavin Honeycutt, Emma Minton, Bryce Minton, and Baylei Minton; siblings, Tammy Efird (Jeff), Tony Christy, and David Christy; and several nieces and nephews.

Terry will be remembered for his kind and generous spirit, always putting others before himself. To him, money meant very little compared to helping those in need, and he would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. Terry had a special ability to find humor in every situation, bringing laughter and comfort to those around him. He was easygoing and carefree, but he was also a hardworking man who spent many years in roofing construction and later worked at Disney World in Florida. After moving to be closer to family he enjoyed helping his nephew at the Stag and Doe Restaurant in China Grove. Terry and his daughter, Amy, shared a love of animals, and he especially loved his cat, Patches. He was wonderful with children and cherished every opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren and great-nephews, creating memories they will hold dear for years to come.
