Shirley S. Esquer

Shirley Stirewalt Esquer, 70, of China Grove, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Novant Health- Rowan with family by her side. She was born on January 21, 1954, to the late Robert and Katherleen Stirewalt in Cabarrus County, NC.

Shirley married the love of her life, Michael Anthony Esquer on March 2, 1975, in Salisbury, NC.

Shirley worked in Food Service for Rowan-Salisbury Schools for over 30 + years. Shirley loved people. Family was most important to her. She loved spending all the time with her children and grandchildren. She loved her family vacations. She adored the time getting ready for those vacations and was ready to plan the next ones. She was very proud of her children and grandchildren. Shirley had a very caring soul. She always reached out to everyone just to see how they were and to check in. Shirley loved her grand dogs, Tucker and Chubbs. Shirley will be missed by all who knew her.

Those to cherish her memories include her husband, Michael; her son, Michael Wayne (Tiffany) and their children, Collin, Cayden and Coen; her son, John Daniel (Gina); her daughter, Leslie Hardy (Gene) and their children, Canon and Tessa and her late son, Robert Anthony and her grandson, Ashe. She is further survived by her siblings, twin sister, Juanita Plyler (Bill), Dale Stirewalt (Becky), Tony Stirewalt (Linda), Lana Mason, Todd Stirewalt (Jill) and Rodney Stirewalt (Louanne); her two uncles, Fred Carter and Jimmy Stirewalt; other relatives and many friends.

Visitation for Shirley will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at Whitley’s Funeral Home, 1748 Dale Earnhardt Blvd., Kannapolis, NC 28083. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Dale Robertson officiating. Burial will be held in West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
