Sheila Collins Gryder

Sheila C. Gryder, 72, of China Grove, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on July 10, 2026. She was born August 6, 1953, in Alexander County to Arlie and Blanche Collins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffrey Gryder; her parents; her brother, Eric Collins and her sister, Gloria Casper.

Sheila worked as an administrative assistant with Ceco Friction in Landis for over 30 years. Sheila loved her sons and grandchildren and treasured the time she spent with them. Sheila loved her time with her black lab, Roy. She was a faithful believer who loved her Lord and found comfort in her faith. She enjoyed reading novels, took pride in keeping a immaculate home and caring for her yard, and valued the many years of friendship she shared with her cousins and lifelong friends. She will be remembered for her caring nature, quiet strength, and the love she had for her family and those closest to her.

Survivors include her two sons, Clint Gryder of Spencer, and Matt Gryder (Heather) of Mooresville; her grandchildren, Rhett, Sarah and Emily Gryder; other relatives and friends.

The Gryder family will receive friends and relatives from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM Monday, July 20, 2026, at Whitley’s Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park.
