Saundra Kay Davis-Poplin

Saundra Kay Davis-Poplin, 81, of China Grove, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at her home.

Saundra was born May 21, 1944, in Cabarrus County, North Carolina to the late Clate Arley Davis and the late Mabel Irene White Davis.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, William R. Poplin of Rockwell, NC and sister, Barbara Davis Sutherland formerly of Kannapolis, NC.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. - 12:45 P.M. on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at Whitley's Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 1:00 P.M. at Whitley's Funeral Home in Kannapolis officiated by Pastor Wesley Morris. The committal service, officiated by Pastor Michael Wooldridge, will immediately follow at Kannapolis City Cemetery, 700 West C St., Kannapolis.

Survivors include daughters, Melissa Page Cunningham and Barry Sidden of China Grove, NC and Carmen Page Lawrence and Dean Lawrence of Mooresville, NC; grandchildren, James Cunningham of China Grove, NC, Kerri Cunningham Riley of Chapel Hill, NC, Kellie Lawrence Wooldridge of Kannapolis, NC, and Mackenzie Lawrence Akin of Pace, Florida; sister, Juanita Davis Savage of Kannapolis, NC; great-grandchildren, Carson and Mason Riley of China Grove, NC, Ashton Cunningham of Kannapolis, NC, Uriah and Gracie Cunningham of China Grove, Caydance Cunningham of Kannapolis, NC, Amberley and Micah Wooldridge of Kannapolis, NC, and Eleanor and Lainey Akin of Pace, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
