Sarah Frances Miller Bragg, 94, resident of Kannapolis, died Monday, March 30, 2026 at Tucker Hospice House with family by her side after a period of declining health.
A funeral to celebrate Sarah’s “Home Going” will be held at 2:30 PM Saturday April 4, at Jackson Park Baptist Church with Rev. J.R. Beaver officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church starting at 1:30 PM.
Sarah was born May 12, 1931 in Cabarrus Co. NC. She was a daughter of the late Willie S. Miller and Alpha Long Miller. In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by her husband Aubrey J. Bragg, her son Phil Bragg, her brothers, Billy and Jack Miller and her sister Mildred Bibeau.
Sarah was a lifelong area resident and longtime member of Jackson Park Baptist Church. She worked for several different retail stores in theft prevention and later credit faud; the last employer was Sears in Charlotte from where she retired. She enjoyed the family’s mountain home and camping at the beach, traveling with K-town Vagabonds and spending time with her family. Her nieces and nephews say she made the best sweet tea and was a great cook.
Sarah leaves behind her son Steven William Bragg of Charlotte, her daughter Karan Bragg Whitley of Concord, her son Mark Clayton Bragg (Christi) of Huntersville, and her daughter in law Barbara Bragg of Mooresville and her sister, Jackie Cox of Apex. Sarah is survived by six grandchildren of whom she was very proud: Matthew Bragg, Jason Earnhardt (Ally) Lori H. Whitcomb (Greg), Kristi H. Huntsberger (Dan), Elizabeth W. Carroll, and Sarah W. Ciblak (Ali). She also leaves behind nine great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Ann Kay Bragg of Deep Gap, and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Morningside of Concord for the compassionate care they provide to their mom and the family.
Online condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made in her name to Jackson Park Baptist Church or Atrium Health Hospice & Palliative Care Cabarrus.
