Russell Eugene Webster, born on October 21, 1938, in Rowan County, passed away on November 3, 2025, surrounded by the love and comfort of his children and grandchildren.

Russell had a commendable career at Cannon Mills, where he worked as a Packer. His life was marked by a remarkable passion for sports, particularly softball, where he spent an impressive 30 years on the Cannon Mills softball team. His contributions to the game earned him the endearing nickname of "The Living Legend," a testament to his enduring spirit and commitment to his team.

Beyond his professional life, Russell was a man of varied interests. He had a deep love for fishing, which offered him tranquility and joy. He loved sharing stories of his childhood growing up in the Blackwelder Park Baptist Church community, a foundation that played a significant role in shaping his values and character.

In his personal life, Russell exemplified the meaning of family. He was married to his beloved wife, Judy Webster, for 54 wonderful years. He is survived by his children, Derek (Lori) Webster and Beth (Clyde) Pittmon, as well as his cherished grandchildren: Caleb (Holly) Webster, Elijah (Savannah) Webster, Josiah Webster, Abigail Pittmon, and Maggie Pittmon.

Russell's legacy will continue through his family, who will remember him not only for his accomplishments but for the love and guidance he provided throughout their lives. His presence will be profoundly missed, yet his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

A graveside service is scheduled to take place on November 8, 2025, at Carolina Memorial Park, located at 601 Mount Olivet Road, Concord, NC 28025. The service will commence at 3:00 PM, with the conclusion set for 4:00 PM. The service will be officiated by Rev Ronnie Simpson of Bright Light Baptist Church.

The family extends special thanks to neighbors Chuck and Dawn Morgan, Cindy Austin, Leann Morgan, and special friends Kenny Helms and Will Fesperman for their constant love and support during this time. Russell Eugene Webster leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and cherished memories that will endure through the ages.
