Dr. Ronald Dwaine Fite, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and esteemed educator, passed away peacefully at his home on August 30, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on December 6, 1951, in Concord, NC, Ron was the cherished son of the late Quincy Abernathy “Buck” Fite and Dorothy Elizabeth “Dot” Reavis.

 Ronald's journey was marked by dedication and perseverance. He began his career working in local mills while tirelessly pursuing his education. His hard work and determination culminated in earning a PhD and a Master Black Belt in Six Sigma, achievements he held in high regard. As a proud graduate of NC State University, Ron dedicated many years to teaching within the North Carolina Community College System's Continuous Improvement Program. His passion for education and his commitment to excellence left an indelible mark on countless students and colleagues alike.

 A proud resident of Landis, Ron loved his hometown deeply and served as the chairman of the Planning Board. His dedication to community service was a testament to his generous spirit and commitment to making a positive impact on those around him.

 Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ron was a man of many passions and interests. In his retirement, he discovered a newfound love for travel, cherishing moments spent exploring new places and creating memories with family and friends. His warmth, kindness, and genuine love for life touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

 Ron is survived by his devoted wife, Jodi Fite, and their two sons, Kevin Fite and his wife Lauri, and Bradley Fite and his wife Lauren. He was a proud grandfather to Autumn, Scarlett, and Eva Fite, and Mackenzie Pierce, who brought immense joy to his life. Ron is also survived by his beloved sister, Judy Corriher, who shared in his life's journey.

As we remember Ron, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and a legacy of wisdom and kindness. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
