Rebecca Jo Billings

Rebecca Jo Marcus Billings, 89, of Kannapolis, wife of the late William Jack Billings, passed away on August 25, 2025. The funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, September 1st, at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Curtis Parker officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:30 -11:30 a.m. prior to the service.

Mrs. Billings was born in Cabarrus County on May 13, 1936, daughter of the late Lonnie Burns Marcus and Rosa Durham Marcus. She grew up in Kannapolis and graduated from A. L. Brown High School. After raising her two sons, Mrs. Billings worked in the health care field for a number of years. She enjoyed cooking for and spending time with her extended family. She also liked exploring thrift stores. Mrs. Billings was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Central Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Billings was predeceased by her two sons, Charles “Timothy” Billings and Alan “Keith” Billings. She was also predeceased by her sister, Betty Ann Marcus Williams. She is survived by a beloved daughter-in-law, Tamara Reese Billings of Kannapolis, and four grandchildren, Robin Billings Baucom, Melissa Billings Thacker, and Angela Billings Cress, all of Kannapolis, and Christopher Billings, of Raleigh. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
