Randy Leonard Christy, 59, of Salisbury, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at his home.

Randy was born June 18, 1966, in Iredell County, North Carolina. He was the son of Gloria Miller Christy and the late David Leonard Christy.

He was also preceded in death by his biological mother, Patsy Elaine Morris.

Randy was a graduate of South Rowan High School. He worked as a lineman at Spectrum Cable for more than 30 years, beginning his career when the company was known as Vision Cable. Randy had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed spending time hunting, but above all, fishing was his greatest passion. He was a proud member of the Rowan County Bass Masters and spent countless hours on the water doing what he loved most. Randy cherished his family and especially enjoyed beach trips and spending time with his wife and children. He was also well known for his love of good food and could often be found at restaurants throughout Rowan and Cabarrus counties and he always seemed to know where to find the best cheeseburger. He will be remembered for his hardworking nature, love of family, and the many memories he created with those who knew and loved him.

Survivors include wife of 30 years, Tracy Lynn Coile Christy of the home; children, Sarah Norton (Dillon) and Garrett Christy; siblings, Donna Austin (Randy), Sandy Sawyer (Bobby), and Holly Christy; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Whitley's Funeral Home. The memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Grace City Church in China Grove officiated by Pastor Mark Murphy.
