Randall Scott Sloop Sr., 60, of Salisbury, went home to heaven on Saturday, April 27, 2024.
Randall was born on October 29, 1963, in Cabarrus County. He was a cherished son of Claudine Adams Bostian and the late Larry Allan Sloop. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Jackie Lee Bostian; stepsister, Julie Corriher; and nephew, Cody Levi Holshouser.
Born with a passion for the open road and the hum of engines, Randall was a true aficionado of all things automotive, with a special fondness for Ford vehicles. In his youth, the thrill of drag strip racing ignited his spirit, as he pushed the limits of speed and skill.
Beyond the roar of engines, Randall found solace in the tranquility of nature, particularly amidst the majestic mountains, especially autumn. With a fishing rod in hand, he found joy in the simplicity of casting lines and spending time with family.
Randall was a gun enthusiast; he held a deep appreciation for firearms. He was also a Chicago Bears fan who never missed a game. Yet, amidst all his passions, Randall found time for spiritual reflection, turning to his Bible daily.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Lynn Sloop; children, Randy S. Sloop Jr. (Brittany), Brittany Badgett, Joseph Badgett (Mallory), Caroline Badgett, and Timothy Badgett (Ally); grandson, Maverick Blackwelder; mother, Claudine Adams Bostian; siblings, Stephine Holshouser (Kevin), Stanley Sloop (Brenda), and Donnie Bostian (Angie); and his cats, Bella and Lexie.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00pm on Tuesday April 30, 2024, at Whitley’s Funeral Home in Kannapolis. A funeral service will be held the following day, at 1:00 pm in Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rodney Efird officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.
