Rachel Remell Hartsoe

Rachel Remell Herlocker Hartsoe, 93, of Kannapolis, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Kannapolis Health and Rehab.

She was born May 5, 1933 in Stanley co to the late John Howell Herlocker and Earnie Fink Herlocker.

Rachel worked as a re inspector for Cannon Mills for many years, She and her husband enjoyed going to classic car shows with their 31 Ford Victoria, they also enjoyed going to drag races, she loved trips to the mountains especially going to Gatlinburg, she enjoyed dancing and sagging many years ago, Rachel spent many hours on the baseball, softball, football and soccer field watching the grandchildren playing sports. She adored her grandchildren and Great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gwyn Hartsoe July 2, 2018 and her siblings, Norman Herlocker, James Herlocker, Ruth Smith, Hazel Barringer, Ruby Howard, Loddie Herlocker and Lewis Herlocker.

Those left to cherish her memory, her daughter Marla Goodnight (Michael) of Davidson, grandson, Christopher Goodnight (Melissa) of Charlotte, Constance Michelle Goodnight of Charleston, SC, great grandchildren, Hadley, Caden, and Sawyer Goodnight of Charlotte.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday September 14, 2026 at Carolina Memorial Park. A visitation will be prior from 9:45 to 10:45 at Whitley’s Funeral Home.
