Rachel Arlene Harrison

Rachel Arlene Higginbotham Harrison, 94, of Kannapolis, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025.

Rachel was born on March 8, 1931 in West Virginia. She was a cherished daughter of the late Okel Higginbotham and Birdie Phillips Higginbotham. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Othor Elbert Harrison; and her sisters, Arbutis Asbury, Jo Eva Higginbotham, and Dessil Farrish.

Rachel enjoyed reading the daily newspaper and faithfully completing her crossword puzzles. Her faith guided her life, and she was a member of Unity United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir.

She especially loved decorating for the holidays and hanging Christmas lights. Rachel loved bringing beauty to each season.

In her younger years, she also enjoyed traveling, creating memories and stories that she carried with her throughout her life. Rachel loved to cook and bake, often sharing homemade meals and treats with those she cared about.

Rachel will be remembered for her gentle spirit, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Gail Adkins (Robert), Linday Warner, Annette Hogue, and April Weaver; Rachel was also blessed with 7 grandchildren and 6 great- grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held in the spring at a later date.
