Peggy Ruth Smith Mauldin

Peggy Ruth Smith Mauldin, 89, passed away on January 2, 2026, at UNC Health Blue Ridge Hospital in Morganton, North Carolina.

Peggy was born on November 5, 1936, in Concord, to her parents, the late Napoleon Lee Smith and Alma Ruth Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Rodney Mauldin.

Peggy’s greatest love was taking care of her family and friends. She was a graduate of Winecoff High School, class of 1954.

Peggy is survived by her sons, Alan, Calvin, and Brad Mauldin; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 2:00pm on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at Whitley’s funeral home in Kannapolis. A graveside service will follow the visitation beginning at 2:30pm at Oakwood Cemetery in Concord.
