Particia Jane “Patty” Barlow Argo left her sickness and peacefully crossed the River Jordan on May 19, 2026, at the age of 90. She was born February 12, 1936, in Kannapolis, NC, to the late Quincy and Margaret Barlow. Patty and beloved husband Ken Argo enjoyed 69 years of marriage. She was known for her unwavering love and support for her family and community.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Ken Argo; her son, Patrick (Tanya) Argo; her daughter, Kendra (Kevin) Kruse; two granddaughters, Caroline (Christian) Lattimore and Catherine Kruse; her brother, Ron (Sherry) Barlow; two nieces, Sharon (Rick) Lyon and Susan (Chris) Jewell; loving great nieces, nephews, other relatives and a legion of devoted friends.
Patty graduated from A.L. Brown High School in the Class of 1954. She loved her time in school to be around people she loved and cared for. Patty took on the joy of coordinating her class reunions yearly and sooner if possible. Patty went to Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, NC. She enjoyed going to her class reunions in the Mountains, which was held the first weekend every October. During her college years, she loved spending her weekends at Chapel Hill going to dances, ball games, and a Louis Armstrong concert and found the song, “It’s a Wonderful Life”, which stayed with her all her life. Patty and Ken were members of First Baptist Church of Kannapolis since 1964. She was a deaconess and adored helping in the nursery with the young babies.
While Patty was in high school, she worked in a lady’s department store; she loved meeting new people. The women she met turned into lifelong friendships. Patty worked for the Swanee Theater selling tickets and enjoyed her time giving tours through Cannon Mills and the GI House. Patty loved her job with the Chamber of Commerce; especially her participation in the Dale Earnhardt Day where she helped orchestrate the parades, dances and dinners for the day.
Patty had a full life. Amongst all these accomplishments, she was most proud of her family. She loved raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren. At the beach, she loved seeing her kids and grandchildren making lasting memories. Patty loved taking walks on the beach and shag dancing in the sand. Patty was an amazing person and had the biggest heart. She loved everyone she met. No matter what she was going through, she always had a smile on her face that would warm the heart.
Patty’s family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm Noon at First Baptist Church of Kannapolis, 101 N. Main Street in Kannapolis. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm Noon with Pastor Thomas Cabaniss officiating. Private burial will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Baptist Church of Kannapolis.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Hospice doctors and nurses, and the staff at Asbury Health and Rehabilitation Center for their care and compassion given to the family and Patty.
