Ned Jordan

Ned Jordan, 86, of China Grove, passed away Friday July 10, 2026, at Best of Care Assisted Living, where he had been for a short period of time. He was born July 25, 1939, in Royston, Georgia, to the late Harvey Jordan and Verba Chastain Jordan.

Ned was a graduate of Winecoff School. He worked for Joe Ervin Grading as an Equipment Hauler for 45 years. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Glenda, throughout the years. He also enjoyed growing his garden and sharing his vegetables with family and friends. He was quite the jokester and always had a good story to share! In his earlier days he loved to play pool and was known as a pool shark at the table. He was the best husband, Dad, Grandpaw and Great Grandpaw. His pride and joy in life were his grandchildren and great grandchildren! He was a good, hardworking man his whole life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his sisters Louneil Jordan, Lavonda Griffin, his brothers Donald Jordan, Dalton Jordan, Teddie Jordan, and Terry Jordan.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Glenda Jordan, his children, Crystal Sharpe (Brian), Timmy Vannoy (Tonya), Kimberly Nickelson and Susan Jordan. He leaves behind nine grandchildren, Amber Brafford (Cameron), Brandon Sharpe (Sadie), Kaylee Vannoy, Caleb Vannoy, Judy Nickelson, Jacob Hagler, Larry Hagler, Emily Jordan and Lily Jordan and four great grandchildren Emmett, Brady, Goldie and Karter. Also, his loving brother, Vernon Jordan (Michele), his yorkie Ruby and long-time friend Tony “Fuzz” Beaver.

A funeral service will be held at 5 pm on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Whitley’s Funeral Home chapel. A visitation will be prior to the service from 3-5 at Whitley’s Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com
